Pretty busy week coming up. But the best kind of busy. Stretching canvases all day tomorrow and sketching drafts for a future mural commission. Then a museum field trip on Friday with lots of commissions and homework and work in between. Let’s do this!
Today in particular I realized something important.
I absolutely love being an artist and sharing my creations and passion for art with other people. Nothing makes me happier.
Sometimes I hate being an art major. Like today. Today, I really hate being an art major. Going to college for art just isn’t all it’s cracked up to be so far. And I know it’s probably because I’m at a community college instead of a hardcore art school. But I do like my professors and my classes I have now. The problem is figuring out what to do after I’m done with my two years at community. That’s where it gets tricky. Why does art school have to be so expensive. And why does it seem so hard to find a stable job as an artist in the real world? I’m probably going to be living in a cardboard box ten years from now. I’ll be like Squidward. That’s it. That’s all I’m going to amount to in life. Fuckin Squidward Tentacles.
I need to start on the mural on my wall soon. But I also have other stuff I need to do. It’s all so distracting and exciting at the same time. :p
